Michael Iaconelli was born on 17 June 1972 in Runnemede, New Jersey. Michael grew up in an extended family that included his grandparents, uncles, and aunties.

Michael Iaconelli was exposed to fishing at a younger age while going for summer journeys in Pocono Mountains. It seems those journeys were of importance because he introduced to other forms of fishing apart from bass fishing.

When Michael Iaconelli finished his high school studies, he joined the ‘Top Rod Bassmaster,’ which became Iaconelli’s first venture into bass fishing competitions.
