Kelvin was born and raised in the city of Chicago, Illinois. He lived with his mother Lynette Hayden, father Kelvin Hayden Sr. and sister Kendra Hayden. He attended Hubbard High School, where he began playing football. Then, he went to Joliet Junior College and took part in various inter-college tournaments.
