Danny Way, whose birth name is Daniel Way, was born on the 15th of April 1974 in Portland, Oregon, the U.S. to parents, Dennis Way and Mary Way. He has a brother, Damon. His father, Dennis, was jailed for not providing child support to his former wife and, after nine days, hanged himself in his cell. After that, his mother dated several men who abused all three of them. His mother married Tim O’Dea, who introduced Danny and his brother to the world of skateboarding and surfing. The couple eventually divorced, and Tim died after a surfing session.

In 2005, he became the first and only person to ollie over the Great Wall of China.
