Barbara Ann Blakeley was born in Bosworth, Missouri, to Charles Willis Blakeley and Irene Prunty Blakeley. At the tender age of 10, she moved to Wichita, Kansas, and her parents and younger sister, Patricia. At 18, she graduated from Wichita North High School in 1946 and moved to Long Beach, California, to commence her career in modeling.
