Anita Hill was born in Lone tree, Oklahoma. She was the youngest child of Albert and Erma Hill and belonged to a family of farmers. Her family raised her in the Baptist faith. She did her schooling and graduated from Morris High School and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology with honors in 1977 from Oklahoma State University. In 1980, she got her Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law school.

She pursued her dream of becoming a lawyer by starting her law career as an associate with the Washington D.C. firm of Wald, Harkrader, and Ross in 1980.
