Early Life & Biography
Wendell was born 8th December 1963 in New Orleans, when he was born his parents Althena Pierce and Amos Pierce named him Wendell Edward Pierce; he is one of three sons of a teacher and a decorated World War II veteran who worked as a maintenance engineer.
He has raised in the black middle-class community the African-American post-war suburb. His father along with many other blacks moved into the neighborhood after returning home from war. They found the whole neigh hood was swept out during Hurricane Katrina their family home was flooded by 14 feet of water.
He went to Benjamin Franklin High School and completed his education from the New Orleans Centre for Creative Arts. Wendell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in drama from Juilliard School’s Drama Division.
