Udonis Johneal Haslem was born on June 9th, 1980 in Miami Florida United States. He is the son to John who played college basketball for the Stetson Hatters from 1972-1974. His mother was a Puerto Rican named Debra.
He went to school at Wolfson High School which was in Jacksonville, Florida. He then went to Miami Senior High school in Miami. In 1997 and 1998 Haslem led Miami High to the state titles alongside Steve Blake the future NBA player.
Then later Haslem and several others were found in circumvented residency requirements which were classified as a violation and as a result Miami high was ordered to forfeit its entire schedule and was stripped of its 1998 title.

Haslem received an athletic scholarship by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He majored in leisure engagement as well as playing for Gators team from 1998 to 2002.
Haslem height disqualified him to get drafted in the 2002 NBA draft since he measured 6’6”. Then he was presented with an offer to join Atlanta Hawks for training camp and Shaw’s Pro Summer League made him their roaster.
In the start of 2002-2003 NBA seasons Haslem was released by the Hawks. Then h signed with the French LNB Pro A with Chalon-sur-saone. In the one season with the team he averaged 16.1pointsand 9.4 rebounds per game.
Hasleem was lucky to be signed with his hometown team “Miami Heat” on August 6, 2003. He played as Rookie in the Rookie Challenge during the All-Stars weekend and earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors. He assisted the team to reach the Eastern Conference Semi-finals.
In August 2005 he re-signed with the Heat. And the following year Haslem led the team to win their maiden NBA Championship with a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Maverick in the NBA finals.
In the year 2010 Haslem signed a five year contract to stay with the Heat of five years worth $20 million.
On November 2020 Haslem signed yet another deal with the Heat. This time in the 2020-21 season he only played a single game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
