Ubisoft was founded by five brothers of the Guillemot family. The names of the five brothers are Christian, Claude, Gerard, Michel, and Yves Guillemot. It was established in Carentoir. After a certain period, Yves Guillemot was able to bargain for a deal with the Electronics Arts, Sierra ON-Line, and also MicroProse.

The deal was to enhance the distribution of the games that were developed. After more than ten years, Ubi Soft began to expand to other parts of the world. Among the markets that the company was targeting included those in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

In the year 1996, the company became a public traded company, and it has continued to expand its operations to various parts of the world. Among the locations that it founded included Shanghai, Montreal, and also Millan.

In the year 2001, they were able to buy The Learning Companies from the Gores Technology group. The purchases gave them the rights to the properties. This property included Myst. In the year 2006, they were able to buy the Driver brand, from the Atari. The sale price was nineteen million pounds.

The company continued to grow, and in the year 2008, they did acquire Hybride Technologies. It is in the same year that they would be able to buy Massive Entertainment. In the year 2003, they decided to have a new name: Ubisoft, and this is the time that they were ready to launch a new logo.

In 2004, Electronic Arts, Which a fierce competitor, would buy 19.9% shares of the company. In the year 2013, they gave a detailed plan of how they would go on and invest more than $373 million to ensure the effectiveness of its Quebec operations. The company did create a Consumer Relationship center that was based in Newcastle. The center’s aims were to integrate support teams as well as the managers. The company does publish their games, and they own various distribution centers.
