Twiggy, whose real name is Dame Lesley Lawson, was born on the 19th of September 1949 in Neasden, Middlesex, England to parents, Nellie Lydia and William Norman Hornby. Her father was a master carpenter and joiner while her mother was a factory worker at a printing firm.
