I am a Vietnam Vet and I was drafted 1958. My father was an officer with Admiral Nimitz from Dec 7, 1941.. I was 6 yrs old and my 4 children couldn’t believe I remembered those times with such clarity. I’m t remembered on dec 7 1941 running down the streets in NY city to my grandparents house.. I didn’t know then why everyone was running.. I remember the blackouts at night, the lines of men and women joining the military, my mother taking me to the garment industry to make uniforms,, all my relatives working in war plants, my aunt telling general Doolittle to get off the tar mat because the New Bromberg needed to leave the factory.. sh said he saluted het and thanked her..
