Additionally, her parents were musicians: Ricky Nelson and actress/artist Kristin Nelson.

Tracy has three younger siblings: Matthew Nelson and Gunnar Nelson and Sam Nelson. Furthermore, her fatherly grandparents were Ozzie and Harriet Hilliard Nelson, while her maternal grandparents were Tom Harmon, a Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Michigan, and actress Elyse Knox.
