Early Life
The Edge was born on the 8th of August, 1961. Although he was born in Essex, England, he was raised in Ireland where his family had moved while he was still very young. His parents, Garvin and Gwenda Evans were originally from Llanelli, which is a coastal town in South Wales. He was the second child to be born to his parents with his elder brother being Dik.
He also has a younger sister named Gillian. His father, who was an engineer, used to work for a local electronics company called Plessey. In 1962, the company offered him a promotion along with a transfer to Dublin. It is was in Dublin that The Edge spent most of his growing years.
