Stone Carpenter Gossard was born on 20^th July 1966 to his parents in Seattle, Washington. His father, David W. Gossard Jr, was a lawyer while his mother Mary Carolyn Carpenter used to work in Seattle city government. Gossard was raised in Seattle with his two sisters Shelly Joan and Star Leslie Dirette. Most of his music career has been with bands. His first band was March of Crimes in Seattle.
