Only at the age of thirteen, Williams had recognized his love for the sport of “golf.” During practices, he was hooked and continuously caddying around 36 balls on the weekends and still devoted a decent amount of time to golf himself. In a personal interview, he confessed how he loved caddying more than golfing. Steve experienced being a caddie professionally in 1976 for Peter Thomson. In 1979, he decided to drop out of school to become a caddie on a European Tour.
