Selma Blair was born in Southfield, in the Metropolitan area of Detroit, Michigan. Her mother is Molly Ann, a judge and her father Elliot I. Beitner, who was an attorney general, active in the U.S Democratic Party and labor Arbitrator. She is the youngest having three sisters, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Marie Beitner.
