He became chairman of the board and later helped raise $150 million for the company. Canion is a member of AMVESCAP, BlueArc, and Young Life and Health Link, and he is also the Director Emeritus of the Houston Technology Centre. Canion published a memoir in 2013 about his career in Compaq and his view of how he and others changed the IBM PC compatible industry.
