Diaz was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on the 17th of November, 1981. She later migrated to New Orleans with her family when she was a child. She has Honduran and Chilean ancestry. On July 30th, 2009, Rocsi revealed on 106 & Park that she suffered from anorexia during her middle and high school years as a result of her love for cheerleading.

She began her career as a host on 97.9 The Beat, the city’s most common urban radio station, while growing up in New Orleans. Rocsi developed a distinct, street-savvy style that drew the notice of Boston’s Hot 97.7, where she eventually worked as a DJ. She relocated to Chicago in 2004, where she was employed as a midday-hour DJ at radio station Power 92 WPWX-FM, where she was dubbed “The Midday Mami.”
In 2000, Diaz competed on MTV’s Fear as a participant. On the 28th of July, 2005, AJ Calloway and Free left BET and were replaced by Big Tigger and Julissa Bermudez. They parted ways, and on July 6th, 2006, Rocsi was named co-host of BET’s 106 & Park alongside Terrence J. Over 85 million people in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Africa, the Caribbean, and Japan watch the show.
She and co-host Terrence J took the footage in Japan for the premiere and appeared on the MTV Video Music Awards Japan. Rocsi appeared in Def Jam: Icon in 2007 as a BET News correspondent, albeit only in cutscenes on TV and not in fighting mode.
