Ritchie Blackmore was born on 14 April 1945, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, to his parents Lewis J. Blackmore and Violet. When Blackmore was two years of age, his family moved to Heston, Middlesex. His father gifted him his first guitar at the age of 11.
When he was young, he wanted to be like Tommy Steele because he used to jump around and play. While he was in school, he participated in various sporting events, including javelin throw.
