Raymond Kurzweil was born on February 12, 1948, in New York City, New York, the U.S, to secular Jewish parents. He completed his schooling from the NYC Public Education Kingsbury Elementary School.

Ray Kurzweil built a program named the Select College Consulting Program, during his sophomore year at MIT. The software compared thousands of data of different students to match high school students with colleges.
