Raymond Kurzweil was born on February 12, 1948, in New York City, New York, the U.S, to secular Jewish parents. He completed his schooling from the NYC Public Education Kingsbury Elementary School.
At the age of five, Kurzweil decided that he wanted to be an inventor and was an avid reader of science fiction literature. As a child, he created several toys and electronic gadgets, including a robotic puppet theater and robotic game.
