Pau Gasol is a Spanish NBA player who born July 6th, 1980, in Barcelona, Spain, to his father Agusti and his mother, Marisa. Though born in Barcelona, his parents moved when he was two years old to Sant Boi de Llobregat, where he was raised. Both his parents had no basketball background as his dad was a nurse administrator while his mother used to as medical doctor.
His basketball career started when in school, as he used to play for his school team before signing for the Catalonian basketball team Cornella. At the age of sixteen, he was drafted in Barcelona’s junior team. His younger brother Marc Gasol is also an NBA player who is currently signed by Toronto Raptors.

After he signed Memphis Grizzlies, his family moved with him to the USA and settled in Germantown, Tennessee. His two brothers Marc and Adrian, enrolled in Lausanne Collegiate School. In 2001, Memphis Grizzlies came calling and signed for him where he played for them till 2008 when he left for Los Angeles Lakers. His first season with the Grizzles saw him winning Rookie of the year award. His two first seasons with the Grizzles saw playing all 164 games and only came to miss a game in his third season with a foot injury.
On February first, Grizzlies decide to trade him for several players to Los Angeles Lakers, a trade that was surrounded by some controversies. Four days later, he made his debut with the Lakers, where he scored 24 points and 12 rebounds. He went on to play for Lakers till 2014 when he joined Chicago Bulls.
