OMG as an American teenage girl group, which was previously called the OMG Girlz. The initials of the group name OMG represents “Officially Miss Guided.” The group has three girls in it named Bahja “Beauty” Rodriguez, Breanna “Babydoll” Womack, and Zonnique “Star” Pullins; they wanted to inspire the world and make them realize that they could stand together as friends, teens, and young women.

This group was formed in 2009 by Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. They originated in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. They were active for 2009-2015. They specialize in the genres of R&B, pop, hip-hop. They made their first public appearance on an episode of BET’s Tiny and Toya reality TV series. They are best known for their singles, “Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Where the Boys At?” and “Gucci This.”

Inception

At the start, the group consists of Bahja “Beauty” Rodriguez, Breanna “Lolo” Rodriguez, Reginae “Baby Carter” Carter, and Zonnique “Star” Pullins. Earlier, Pullins was a member of the group QT Posse with QT Jazz; after some years, QT Jazz disbanded the group, and then the OMG Girlz was formed.

Their first single was “Ain’t Nobody” in 2010. Shortly after, their first single “Baby Carter” left the group. After that, they released their second single “Haterz,” they performed this single on Good Day Atlanta. But, the group again faced difficulty when “Lolo” left the group as she was very young. They then started looking for a third member and found Breanna “Babydoll” Womack. They found her via a youtube video of her’s dancing to the song “Ego” by Beyonce`.

Evolution

Now the group has three members in it, Bahja “Beauty” Rodriguez, Breanna “Babydoll” Womack and Zonnique “Star” Pullins, and their first single, “Gucci This” was released in February 2012. In December 2011, the OMG Girlz signed Interscope Records. They released their first single under this record. The song was viral among the audience and soon peaked at #59 on two of Billboard’s Charts R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs for 10 and 13 weeks respectively.

Their second single, “Where The Boys At?” peaked at #77 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for five weeks. Lil Will and Trevante wrote the song. “Lover Boy” was an unreleased song, but they previewed it while performing on tour. This song soon became the most famous single in the group. They have made a cameo appearance in the video “Hello” by T.I. They released “Can’t Stop Loving You,” “ Baddie,” “Do You Remember,” “Incredimazable,” and “Ridin’ Slow” in 2013.

They signed with many labels like Grand Hustle, Interscope, and Pretty Hustle. Unfortunately, the group announced their disbandment on March 12, 2015, on their official Instagram account.

Since their disbandment, the group members put out themselves as solo artists. “Beauty” released her debut “It Gets Better” on November 20, 2015. It stayed on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums at #10 position for one week. “Babydoll” changed her name to “JusBre” and released two singles, “Only in America” and “Selfish.”

They reunited to perform as a special guest during Zonnique’s opening set on the Great Xscape Tour with Xscape on December 31, 2017. Their fans speculated that they would soon reunite after they updated their Facebook page, but they didn’t confirm it.

Awards & Achievements

They have been once nominated for the award 44th NAACP Image Award for the category Outstanding New Artist, but sadly they didn’t win. Their most-streamed songs are “Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Where the Boys At?” , “Gucci This (Gucci That)” and “Lover Boy.” They don’t have any awards to their name.
