Nolan Kay Bushnell was born on 5 February 1943 in Clear Field, Utah, United States. He had much interest in video games during his high school times while working at Lagoon Amusement Park.

In the year 1961, Nolan Kay Bushnell joined Utah State University, where he specialized in engineering and then, later on, went to study business.  He decided to transfer to the University of Utah College of Engineering. He then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
