Nicholas Mears Loeb was born on August 2, 1975, in Purchase, Harrison, New York, the United States, to his parents John Langeloth Loeb Jr. and Meta Martindell Harrison. His father served as a Delegate to the United Nations and was a former United States Ambassador to Denmark. Loeb has one half-sister from his father’s first marriage. Popular Canadian businessman Edgar Bronfman Sr. is his uncle.
When he was one year old, his parents divorced and was raised by his father. Loeb went to the Collegiate School and Loomis Chaffee School in New York City.
