Edward Miner Lamont Jr. was born on January 3, 1954, in Washington, DC. He is the son of Edward Miner Lamont and Camille Helene. His mother used to work as a staffer for Estes Kefauver and his father was an economist. At age seven, his family moved to Long Island’s Laurel Hollow. Lamont has two younger sisters.
