Monica Crowley was born on 19 September 1968 at an army camp of Fort Huachuca in Arizona city of the United States and was raised in Warren Township of New Jersey. She graduated in Political Science from Colgate University and then went to Columbia University to pursue a Ph.D. in international relations. Her sister, Dr. Jocelyn Elise Crowley, is a professor and takes public policy classes at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Her brother-in-law and Jocelyn’s husband, Alan Colmes, was also a political analyst.
When Monica was a student, she used to write letters to former US President Richard Nixon, and in 1990, when she was 22, the President hired her as a research helper. She was also part of his editorial advising body, and after his death on 22 April 1994, she came out with two books about him. Since 1990, she has been a regular columnist at The New Yorker, the New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, the Baltimore Sun and the Los Angeles Times.

After this report was aired, instead of firing her, the “Trump transition team” defended her by saying that the report by CNN was politically motivated. On 9 January 2017, another news agency, “Politico” aired a report stating that there were about dozen examples of plagiarism in Monica’s Ph.D. thesis on international relations. This report added fuel to the fire, and the very next day the publisher of her book banned the selling of her books until the author revised the alleged contents.
