Her father worked as a sales manager, and her mother worked as a teacher.
When she was just four years old, she was involved in a car accident that killed her mother, younger sister, and cousin. When it comes to her education, she went to St. Dominic School in Shaker Heights for grade school, and Hawken School in Gates Mills, Ohio. She then went to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied drama and graduated in 1987.
