Early Life & Biography

He was born Michael Dean Cohen, born in Lawrence, Nassau County, New York, U.S.  His father Maurice Cohen worked as a surgeon, while his mother Sondra Cohen worked as a nurse. Michael has a brother by the name of Bryan Cohen, and they were both brought up in the town of Lawrence. Cohen began his studies at the Woodmere Academy. Later he went for further studies at American University, from where he graduated with a BA in 1988. In 1991 he received his JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

In 1995, Cohen got married to the love of his life Laura Shusterman, who is a Ukrainian.  Cohen and Laura have been blessed with two children; a daughter Samantha Cohen, and a son Jake Cohen. The father of Laura, Fima Shusterman relocated to New York from Soviet Ukraine in 1975. Fima was the one who introduced Cohen to Trump.
