Matt Harvey, whose full name is Matthew Edward Harvey, was born on the 27th of March 1989 in New London, Connecticut, the U.S. to parents, Ed Harvey and Jackie Harvey. He is of Irish and Italian descent and was raised in Mystic, Connecticut. He has two sisters, Jessica and Jocelyn.

His father works as coach of a Fitch Senior High School’s baseball team. Matt has attended Fitch Senior High School, where he played both baseball and basketball. Matt Harvey got the start of his professional career when he was selected as the 7th overall pick by the New York Mets in the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
