Gladwell was born in Fareham Hampshire England. His father is Graham Gladwell, a mathematics professor from Kent England and his mother Joyce Gladwell, a Jamaican Psychotherapist. He is a Christian where they attended Above Bar Church in Southampton and when in Canada at Gale Presbyterian in Elmira. They lived in rural Canada throughout his childhood.
