  1. “Family moved to Hollywood at age six”. That’s a crock. She personally told me that she and her mother lived in Fargo, ND for a while and that she sang on the radio station there when she was 6. She did mention that she was very shy but that she managed to sing over the radio anyway. I don’t remember her as I was only about 9 at the time but my sister (now deceased) who was about 16 at the time said she definitely remembered a little girl singing on Sta. WDAY, Fargo. Linda, her half-brother and her mother lived on Oxnard St. in North Hollywood and frequented the gas station where I worked. (North Hollywood is not the north part of Hollywood, but a completely separate city.) She had a ’55 Chevy hardtop that was blue on the bottom and white on top and Conny Stevens, who also frequented the gas station. had one just like it but that was red on the bottom. Linda had just started doing some acting when we became acquainted, and she had a part time job as a ticket girl at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. I picked her up after work there a few times and we sat eating TV dinners at their home on Oxnard St. with her mother and brother sitting a few feet away watching TV. I tried making small talk with her mother once while Linda went to the bathroom and was all but ignored. That told me how I ranked in that circle!! Ha Ha!
