King Salman was born as the 25th son of Ibn Saud, who was the founder of Saudi Arabia. King Salman was brought up in Murabba palace. He attended Princes School in Riyadh’s capital city, formed by Ibn Saud, and studied Modern Science plus religion.
Personal Life
King Salman was born to Ibn Saud, the first monarch and founder of Saudi Arabia, on 31 December 1935. Salman has six full brothers who make up the Sudairi Seven. King was raised in Murabba Palace.
He studied religion and modern science, and at the age of 19, he was appointed as Deputy Governor of Riyadh Province. Later on 5 February 1963, he was appointed as the provincial governor, and he remained in the office until 5 November 2011.
Talking about his married life, King Salman has been married three times, and as of 2017, he had 13 children. His first wife, who deceased in 2011, was Sultana bint Turki Al Sudairi. She died at the age of 71 and gave five children to King. Later he married Sarah bint Faisal Al Subai’ai who he later divorced. Sarah gave him one child, Prince Saud. After Sarah, he married Fahda bint Falah bin Sultan Al Hathleen, and he got six children from her.
