Kathleen was born and raised in Berkeley, California. Her mother, Dione Marie, has been a former theatre actress, and her father, Donald R. Kennedy, has served as a judge and lawyer. Kathleen has two sisters. One is her twin sister named “Connie” who has worked as a location manager in Columbia and presently an executive film producer of the Virtual Production house called “Profile Studios.”

In the final year, she got an opportunity to work with the local San Diego TV station, where she got practical hands-on exposure and learning in various areas such as camera operator, floor director, video editor, and news production coordinator. After serving KCST for a couple of years, she later produced her local talk show entitled “You’re On.” She has worked for nearly four years and then moved to Los Angeles, where she started working on the post of an assistant to executive producer John Milius.
While she was working with John Milius on 1941’s production, she came in contact with Steven Spielberg. He recruited her for her excellent production ideas.
