Justin Ervin started his career by working with Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take 2 1/2 in the capacity of a production assistant. This was in the year 2005 and later he went on to become an additional crew member for the TV series Paranormal State.
His first documentary production was As In a Mirror which is about the lives of Senegalese merchants in Italy. In 2007 he ventured into cinematography. Ervin was first credited in the documentary Derby in Black. This project was about Black Jockeys on horse racing.
