Judi Dench, whose full name is Judith Olivia Dench, was born on the 9th of December 1934 in Heworth, York, the U.S. to parents, Eleanora Olive (formerly,  Jones) and Reginald Arthur Dench (1897- 1964). Her father was a doctor. Her mother was born in Ireland while her father was born in England but later moved to Ireland, where he was brought up.

Her father met her mother while studying medicine at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. When it comes to Judi’s education, she had attended the Mount School in York, England. She had an elder brother, Jeffery Dench (1928-2014). When it comes to her religious views, she is a Quaker.

Judi Dench married popular late British actor, Michael Williams on the 5th of February 1971. Their child is the popular English actress, Finty Williams, who was born on the 24th of September 1972. Michael Williams died at the age of 65 years from lung cancer in 2001. Since 2010, she has been in a relationship with David Mills.

Judi Dench began her career with theatre. She made her first professional stage appearance in September of 1957 with the Old Vic Company at the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool, where she played Ophelia in “Hamlet.” She performed with the Old Vic Company from 1957 until 1967 in different plays, including “Henry V.” She left the Old Vic Company and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in December of 1961.
