Judi Dench, whose full name is Judith Olivia Dench, was born on the 9^th of December 1934 in Heworth, York, the U.S. to parents, Eleanora Olive (formerly,  Jones) and Reginald Arthur Dench (1897- 1964). Her father was a doctor. Her mother was born in Ireland while her father was born in England but later moved to Ireland, where he was brought up.

Her father met her mother while studying medicine at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. When it comes to Judi’s education, she had attended the Mount School in York, England. She had an elder brother, Jeffery Dench (1928-2014). When it comes to her religious views, she is a Quaker.
