John Roy Anderson was born on October 25, 1944, in Lincolnshire, England. He is the son of Kathleen and Albert Anderson. His mother used to work in a cotton mill and his father was in the army in the entertainment division. His siblings are Tony, Stuart, and Joy. In 1968, he became a founder founding member of the band Yes.
