Joakim Simon Noah was born on 25th February 1985, in New York City to singer and tennis player Yannick Noah and four-time runner-up and Miss Sweden Cecilia Rodhe. Joakim Noah has three siblings. His grandfather was also a famous Cameroonian professional football player.
In 1988 he shifted to Paris, France, and lived there till 1998. After that, he returned to New York City at the age of 13.

Noah started his basketball career by playing in college basketball for the Florida Gators and won many NCAA championships in 2006 and 2007. After 2007, he was picked by the Chicago Bulls as the ninth overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft.
In the 2009-10 session of the NBA, he took Chicago Bulls to the playoffs, but they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round in five games.
