Jennifer O’Neil was born on 20^th February 1948 in Brazil in the city of Rio de Janeiro. She was born of an English mother and a Brazilian dad who had Spanish, Portuguese, and Irish ancestry. Jennifer and her older brother grew up in New Rochelle, New York after their family relocated to the United States. When her family moves to New York, she tried to commit suicide, protesting the move would separate her from her horse Monty and her dog Mandy which to her was her world.

In 1962, the same year she tried committing, the Ford modeling agency discovered her while she was still a student at Dalton School in Manhattan. At the age of 15, she had made cover appearances for Seventeen, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan magazines. This earned her a whopping $80,000 a day.  At Dalton school, she never finished her studies as she dropped out at the age of 17 to get married to her first husband, Dean Rossiter.
