Career

After completing high school, Sehorn went to Shasta College in Redding, California, where he was an amazing wide receiver, kick and punt returner. Two years later, he went to the University of Southern California where he began playing as a safety.

In the 1994 NFL Draft, Sehorn was drafted in the second round by the New York Giants and spent most of his time there as a cornerback. After having successful seasons in 1996 and 1997, Sehorn suffered a serious knee injury, where he tore his anterior cruciate (ACL) and medial collateral ligaments (MCL). This happened when he was returning the opening kickoff in a 1998 preseason game against the New York Jets.

Sehorn was able to make a successful recovery but was a bit slower than he was. However, he started 73 games for the Giants in six seasons from 1996 to 2002. He also played in Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens.

On March 7th, 2003, Sehorn was released by the Giants and signed with the St. Louis Rams in May of that year as a safety. Sehorn was only able to play the last 10 games of the season because he had a broken foot at the beginning of the season.

Interestingly, as of 2020, this was the last time an NFL game had a white cornerback as a regular. His contract was terminated by the Rams in 2004 after failing a medical examination.

After one season of playing American Legion Baseball, Sehorn signed with the Chicago Cubs after his senior year of high school. As an outfielder, he failed to produce as a hitter, batting just .184 in 49 games in 1990 for the rookie league Huntington Cubs.

He played a firefighter in one episode of Third Watch, where his character was killed in a warehouse blaze. He is currently the Director of Communications at the Hendrick Automotive Group in Charlotte, North Carolina.
