Early Life
Jason was born on November 12th, 1987, in Beaudesert, Queensland. His father was Alvin, an Australian and his mother, Dening a Filipino. He had two siblings; Yanna and Kim. At the age of six, Jason’s father took him to Beaudesert Golf Club, where he enrolled him as a junior member, playing six holes a day.
They relocated to Rockhampton when he was eight years old, Jason had already begun winning events in surrounding districts. At the age of twelve, Jason’s father died of stomach cancer. The turning point of Jason’s golf playing happened when his friend lent him a Tiger Woods book. He used the book as a benchmark during his daily practice. As an amateur, Day led at the Queensland Open and won the Australian amateur and America’s Boys 15–17 division of Callaway World Junior Championship in 2004. He became runners-up in Porter Cup of 2005.
Day turned professional in 2006, winning the Green Jacket at the NEC Master of the Amateurs. He got signed by TaylorMade and Adidas and started playing PGA Tour events. In 2007 he won a Nationwide tour at the Legend Financial Group Classic. This win rendered him the first youngest man to win all three of PGA Tours.
