Hollywood Undead is a famous rap-rock band based in Los Angles, California, United States. The debut album Swan Songs of the group released on 02 September 2008. The group contains artists like Charlie Scene, Danny, Funny Man, J-Dof, and Johnny 3 tears. The band wears masked because they want to show their creative side. They don’t want to hide their identities, which was assumed by people. The Hollywood Dead performs without the mask on live shows.

They are performing for more than 15 years. The group performed in several styles like rapcore, hip-hop, and crank core.  Every mask of the artist has a different meaning. The design of the mask based on hockey goaltender.

Inception

On 03 June 2005, the band was founded as The Kids. The band received positive reviews, which lead them to create Hollywood undead. The group member J-Dog gave an interview in which he tells that when the group formed band, whichever person played an instrument got selected in the band. After some time the Phillips left the group because he has some issues with Ehrlichman.

The group starts working on their first album first. They try to find a company that will do not censor their album for two years. In 2005, the band signed a deal with My Space Records, but the deal ended because the company tries to censor their album. In 2008, the group signed a contract with A&M Octone Records.

Evolution

On 02 September 2008, the first album Swan Songs of the brand released. Within the week after release, the album reached no.22 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 21,000 copies. On 18 May 2009, the album was released in the United Kingdom and also included two bonus tracks. Hollywood Dead got a chance to tour with American electronic musician Skrillex. In 2009, the band released Swan Songs B-Sides.

On 11 November 2009, the group released Desperate measures, which are a CD/DVD set. It contains six new songs and a live performance by the group. The Desperate Measures ranked no-100 on the Billboard’s Rock Albums chart, no-8 on the Alternative Albums chart, no-5 on the hard rock album chart, and no-15 on the digital albums chart.

In 2010, the band member left Hollywood Undead because of creative differences. The band asked Lorene Drive and Daniel Murillo to join the group. Daniel joined the band and sacrificed the past advance audition of American Idol season 9. In 2010, the band started preparing their second album named American Tragedy.

In late 2010, the group supported their album first song Hear Me Now through Nightmare Afte Christmas Tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Stone Sour. The second was very successful as compared to the previous one. They sold more than 66,915 copies. In the United Kingdom, the album ranked no-43 and on Canada no-5. The band popularity grew, and they performed in Europe, Canada, and Australia.

On 21 November 2011, the remix album American Tragedy Redux was released. It contains remixes from both professionals and fans. In November 2011, they started working on their third album. Their third album was the most anticipated album of 2012. They upload faces for their new collections. The first track of Dead Bite released in October. The third album was released in 2013 and sold more than 53,000 copies. The album ranked no.2 on the Billboard 200. It was the highest-charting album of the band.

The band announced on Instagram that the new album would be released in summer 2014. On 31 March 2015, the album was released titled Day of the Dead.  The song from the album leaked by the Vivo channel but removed shortly. On 19 July 2017, the Hollywood Dead song California Dream was leaked. After three days, the song released officially. The song Whatever IT Takes was available on Youtube Channel on 25 August. The album five published in 2017.

On 25 October 2019, the group released their single Already Dead. After releasing their second single Time Bomb, the band announced their album named New Empire Vol 1.
