When he was seven years old, his parents got divorced, and he was sent to live with his grandparents in Texas. Ehren has two older siblings by the names Lesley McGhehey and Stacey McGhehey. After graduating from high school, Ehren became a professional snowboarder. During this time, he did many stunts, and he was known by several nicknames such as Danger Ehren, Dange, and Scars. After he suffered a neck injury, Ehren retired from skateboarding, and that is when he started working at a skate shop in Portland.
While at the skate shop, he still did film some of his ideas and stunts even though they were on a small scale.
