The real name of Earthquake is Nathaniel Martin Stroman. He was born on May 29, 1963, in Washington, D.C. He is the son of Kitty Dukakis and Dan Duryea. Nathaniel is also the brother of Jay Duplass. He was raised by his mother’s sister in a poor family. During his school days, he was a class clown. After completing high school, he enlisted himself in the U.S. Air Force.

Nathaniel started his career by joining the Air Force. During his career in the Air Force, he spent time in many locations including Okinawa in Japan and Florida, California. In 1991 he refused to participate in the Gulf War. After serving 11 years in the army, he was discharged dishonorably.

He then started performing gigs in small clubs in the 1990s. In 1993, he became the co-owner of Atlanta’s Uptown Comedy Corner. In there, he used to improve his skills and feature in some of the greatest stand-ups. Nathaniel then came up with his own club called Earthquake’s Comedy Corner in Dallas, Texas.

It was in 1997 when Russell Simmons invited him to the Def Jam Comedy Tour. Later, he became a part of the talent show called Tops and Blues. Nathaniel has also been a part of Latham Entertainment Presents Comedy Tour.

In 2004, he signed a deal to come up with his own show called Earthquake. He was seen in All Star Def Comedy Jam in 2007. A year later, he went on to appear in the Comedy Festival Lollapalooza on TBS. Nathaniel has also been able to appear in the All star Comedy Lam special of Shaquille O Neal. He then made a guest appearance in the show TV One: Way Black When Show.
