Dell was founded on February 1, 1984, by Michael Dell when he laid the foundation of “Dell Computer Corporation.” Dell company is named after his name. In 2004, Michael Dell from the position of CEO but continued to serve as Chairman. Kevin Rollins held the title of CEO of the company. He has been the COO and President since 2001.

Dell further acquired Alienware that is a leading manufacturer of specialized high-end computer systems targeted for the gaming market. On September 7, 2016, it completed its acquisition of EMC.
