David Paden Passaro was born on 20^th November 1975 in Rochester, New York, to his American-Italian family. His father passed away when he was just five years old, leaving him with his widowed mother. After his mother re-married, he changed his surname from Passaro to Marchand, taking his stepfather’s surname.

The death of his biological father forced his family to move from Ukiah, California, where he joined catholic schools for his early education all the way to eighth grade. Later, he joined Ukiah High School, where he graduated in 1993.
