Emil Lewandowski, aka Cory Wells, was born on February 5, 1941, in Buffalo, New York, U.S. During his childhood, Cory faced many difficulties as his father died when Cory was very young. Being a single mother, Cory’s mother faced many problems until she remarried. At the age of 18, Cory adopted the last name of his late father from Lowendowski to Wells.

He had seen the worst in his childhood. His stepfather used to beat him and abuse him. While studying at high school, Cory joined several local bands and used to perform at the Buffalo area. After his graduation from high school, Cory joined the U.S. Air Force. He created a band of interracial musicians during his tenure in the Air Force. This band was inspired by Cory’s one of the favorite bands called The Del-Vikings.

Cory Wells married his long-time girlfriend Mary Jane Catalano on 27 January 1965. The couple was blessed with two beautiful daughters named CoryAnn and Dawn Marie. He was also blessed with five grandchildren. Cory died unexpectedly on October 20, 2015, in his sleep. His family confirmed that Cory was suffering from deadly disease Blood cancer.
