  1. Yeager was 5 foot 9 inches tall at his peak………now at his advanced age I’m sure he is shorter….I have known him for many years and have many pictures of him standing next to me and anyone can see that he is a good deal shorter than me @ 6 foot and, I slouch my wife tells me…..

  2. Interesting article. I grew up in Hamlin, WV 2 doors away from Susie and Hal Yeager. My mother, Opal Ray Roberts Jarrett was Chuck Yeager’s teacher in high school and my cousin Rex Ray was one of his best friends. Rex and Chuck were cohorts in all kinds of shenanigans such as drag racing and general mischief around Hamlin. Chuck is our hero from West Virginia.
