Born on July 12, 1943, to Cyril Percy Absell and Beatrice Percy in Lake District village of Bouth, Lancashire in England. Her father Cyril Percy Absell Perfect was a violinist music lecturer at St. Peter College of Education, Saltley, Birmingham and taught violin at St. Philips Grammar school, Birmingham. Her mother was medium, psychic and faith healer. Christine was not serious about music during her early but when she was reintroduced to music by Phillip Fisher a local musician at 11 she found it interesting.

She continued her classical training till 15 and after that, her focus shifted to Rock music when her brother John came with a Fats Domino songbook. She studied sculpture at an art college in Birmingham for five years. Her two friends, Stan Web and Andy met in a pub one night and shifted her foray in music as a singer again. At that time they were playing in a band called sound blue. When they came to know that McVie was also having an interest in singing they made her join their band.

  1. Updated in March 2023 but you don’t mention that she died in November 2022. I went to art school with Christine and attended her funeral.
