She was born in New York City on 22 September 1961, the eldest daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia – also known as Jelisaveta Karadordevic and a Jewish dress manufacturer Howard Oxenberg. She was born there, but eventually, she grew up in London. She has a sister Christina Oxenberg. Catherine is also a great great great granddaughter of KARAGEORGE. Karageorge is the person who started the FIRST SERBIAN UPRISING against the OTTOMAN EMPIRE in 1804.
