Born on March 9, 1954, to Jorge Ghosn and Rose Jazzar. His father was convicted of murdering a priest in 1960. Carlos Ghosn worked in Michelin after his graduation in 1978, initially training and working in several plants in France and Germany. In 1985 he was appointed as a chief operating officer of Michelin’s South American operations. He returned to Rio De Janeiro, reporting directly to Francois Michelin, who tasked Ghosn with turning around the operation, which was unprofitable and struggling under Brazil’s hyperinflation.
