Early Life

Buzz Aldrin was born on January 20, 1930, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. His father Edwin Eugene Aldrin Sr. was a retired military man. His mother’s name was Marion Aldrin. Both his parents later committed suicide at different points of time, which made Aldrin explain his depressions as genetic. Career

In 1951, Aldrin graduated from the Military Academy with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. He was commissioned in the US Air Force with the rank of second lieutenant.
